Well done to all who gave the EIL scholarship a second go by making a Photo Story – it was very difficult to choose only one winner and we would love to have given more than one scholarship but we decided on Claire Maroney from St Flannan’s in Ennis. Not only was her passion for the Japanese language and all things Japanese so evident from the presentation but she made an effort to use Japanese right throughout the presentation – it was clear that this was her own because it wasn’t without mistakes. We are going to send some runner-up prizes to Amy from Coláiste Muire in Ennis, Faye from Coláiste Iosagáin in Stillorgan, and Jennifer from Firhouse Community College but really they were all fantastic and I think they will be a very useful resource in promoting Japanese language learning. If one or two of you are upset that you don’t feature in the prize list it is probably because your presentation was too long.
Well done again to all, and thank you.

I will be applying for an awesome travel award from EIL soon, if i actually manage to get it I will be going to Suwa,Japan for 6 weeks! Any advice from anybody who has connections with EIL Ireland? I just thought that since Language Initiative and EIL have similar goals someone might be able to help!
The government have webcams in all the voting stations to show no tampering is happening in the Presidential Election – voting in Russia looks fun!
